Endrew F. V. Douglas County School District (2017): What The Ruling Means For IEP Teams

If you weren’t able to participate in Dr. Yell’s IEP Workshop, you can still access the recorded webinar.  You will receive a downloadable copy of the workshop presentation handout and a password-protected link to the webinar recording.

The primary charge for IEP teams is to develop special education programs for students that confer a free appropriate public education (FAPE). On March 22, 2017, the U.S. Supreme Court announced its decision in Endrew F. v. Douglas County School District. This case addressed the question of how much educational benefit public schools are required to provide to students with disabilities in order to confer a FAPE.

Join Mitchell Yell, Ph.D., Special Education Law expert and author of The Law and Special Education, for a 3-hour workshop that will:
* explain FAPE
* examine the most important points of Endrew decision, and
* describe how special education teachers, administrators, and other IEP members can ensure that they meet the requirements of IDEA and the Endrew decision when developing students’ special education programs
